Today I finally finished putting up my exhibition. Yahoo! It took so much longer than I expected to get everything perfect. I now have a whole week off while they mark the work (AH) and then it's the private view next week before the exhibition begins.
My bedroom is an absolute tip at the moment. Covered in art materials. I don't think there's one bit of free floor space. I think I'm most creative in the summer, simply because I have loads of time, no work and so can create things for myself, not to be marked and examined. So I'm planning to make some changes in my bedroom. I totally repainted it last summer but this year I'm just going to re-organise and freshen everything up! I've been looking for inspiration on the internet.
I want to put flowers everywhere. My mum (literally!) dug up some old glass bottles when she was younger and they're beautiful. I want to fill them with flowers from the garden.
This is a similar colour to one of my walls. I love the simple framed picture and garland.
I bought a bunting screenprint from Kitty Clark in February and it's still in its tube. I need to frame it in a simple frame like this!
Now that I can use a sewing machine I hope to be able to make more things in the future, like cushions. Except for the small fact that I don't have a sewing machine. Hmm I need to work on that one.
I've taken down most of the scraps on my walls. They were pretty but I want everything to be simpler and fresher. Do you get that in summer too? That you just need to change everything around and chuck a load of stuff out?
