Their baby’s a month away, but Nicole Richie and Joel Madden still can’t settle on a name.
“[Joel and I] can’t agree on one,” Richie, 26, told Access Hollywood in an two-part interview that began Tuesday.
“I figure I’ll be in the hospital for at least a day, so I’ll figure it out then,” she said.
It might be tough, though: Richie said they still do not know the baby’s sex. “We’re waiting to find out, which has been a lot harder on me than it has on Joel because I’m so nosy,” she said. “If he wasn’t at every doctor’s appointment, I probably would have found out by now just behind his back and not told him.”
Boy or girl, she expects her child will not be anything like her or Madden, 28. “They’re going to be so embarrassed of Joel’s tattoos and my tattoos, because I have nine, because you never want to like your parents,” she said.
So what’s the toughest part of being pregnant? Giving up sushi, she said. “It’s my favorite food,” she said. “I was going maybe four or five nights a week.”
Richie, who has been dating her the Good Charlotte rocker since last December, also revealed that they’ll tie the knot “eventually,” but likely not anytime this year.
“Well, look how much has happened this year,” Richie added. “I mean, just let me rest a bit, you know. I gotta hold something for when I get older. I can’t have everything happen all in one year."

{textural healing}
Recently picked up a cleanly designed, ultra-modern chest of drawers for extra storage, yet can't seem to stop looking at complex, ornate and embellished pieces of furniture. It's all about textures and layers these days, and love the worldly, well-travelled look that's showing up in décors all over the place. Quite taken with this Pink Mother of Pearl Inlay Chest of Drawers (above), which is really quite festive, and for fabric textures, Ruth Singer's chair (below) is a wonderful combination of rustic and delicate.
{And thanks to those of you who were wondering about the lack of updates and took the time to write. It's been a busy few weeks and only began slowly down in the past week, so decided to take some off for unfinished projects . . . not to mention the social engagements are beginning to pile up--Monday evening, we're attending an event at my friend Derek's restaurant with Padma Lakshmi of Top Chef. Should be a lovely night!}

Nicole's Thanksgiving
Nicole spend her Thanksgiving day volunteering at a homeless shelter in Hollywood on Thursday. I don't know if she wears leggings or skinny jeans, but I like the minnetonka boots and the black tee mixed up with a super posh animal print scarf and red shades.

{voulez-vous sortir avec moi ce soir?}
The holidays are almost here and the invitations are piling up, and there's enough to think about with thoughtful and personal hostess gifts for dinner parties and soirées, without having to worry about what to wear . . .
To make an entrance and turn heads, something sparkly, gauzy or metallic never fails (above), or if you prefer a more understated look, black is always stylish (below), modernized with a full skirt and ruffling.
Wrap your feet like little presents in glamorous be-ribboned shoes and no one will even consider asking you to remove them before entering!

Nicole's Oz-themed baby shower
About 90 people attended the Beverly Hills shower hosted by Nicole's mother, Brenda and thrown by her sister Sophia and friends Paris Hilton and Masha Gordon. At this event Nicole and Joel raised money for the newly-established Richie Madden Children's Foundation. It was a a Wizard of Oz-themed baby shower, because The Wizard of Oz is Miss Richie's favourite. I can't wait to see more pics!

They Just Don't Make Them Like They Used To
I don't think there is anything more sexy than a vintage 1940's suit. Fitted through the waist, with flared hips and shoulder pads to balance the hip width, nothing is more flattering to the feminine figure. As an added bonus, these suits always feature unusual design details that make them totally unique and unlike anything you can buy today. Take this mustard yellow beauty, for example. It's wool gabardine. And look at those curves!
The opening edge has a sinuous curve that draws your eye and accents the tiny waist. The bound buttonholes follow the line of the opening. Notice how that curve is mimicked in the shape of the lapels. The attention to detail is astounding and unique. It's one of the reasons I love 1940's suits.

Nicole loves fur
The fur is a key element this season. Designers have come up with new ways of working with fur and fake fur has now a better quality.
Nicole Richie has so many fur items that look incredibly flattering on her: vests, boleros, long or mini coats.
Faux fur is nowadays more casual and wearable, it's not just a luxury item for a night out, you can wear it with jeans, mini dresses.

{rosé sauvage}
Things are beginning to feel festive around here, with Melissa's recent French-Inspired Satellite Party, our little trip to NYC, the Murano lamp give-away and thoughts of the perfect gift wrap, lots of gold decorations and lacy snowflakes. Of course, what could be more festive than champagne? Well, pink champagne, of course! And Piper-Heidsieck's Rosé Sauvage, with its trademark gold and pink packaging, is always a stylish choice.
And while we're on the subject of stylish, exchange your regular bottle of vintage for for the limited-edition Rosé Sauvage by Viktor & Rolf as a hostess gift for this year's soirées and dinner parties and you'll be sure to be everyone's favourite guest.
