Just a minute FEBRUARY

Hello lovelies! Is it just me who is glad that January is over? Every day takes us closer to Spring and warmer weather! Here are the rest of my Just a Minutes.

Watching...

Black Swan. Seriously worth going to see! I didn't realise it was going to be so creepy and a little bit gruesome, but it was amazing, and I wish I could do ballet now!

Plus a bit of 90210 on a Tuesday :) I'm addicted.

Looking forward to...

My friend visiting me at uni this weekend. So excited!

Listening to...

French music to get me in the mood for Paris. In a week! Carla Bruni, Camille,Yann Tiersan.

Also a bit of Harry Potter audiobook on Youtube in the evenings. It helps me to relax, haha!

Planning...

Summer holidays. With my family, with friends. I can't wait to just lie on a beach! That's all I want right now.

Viewing...

Loads of gross student houses. And starting to panic that we won't find a nice one! We saw two last week and have nine booked in for this week. Wish us luck! Looking at houses isn't as fun as I thought it might be.

Magazines. I have given up on reading books since starting university! I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of reading properly but right now I've got Glamour, Elle Decoration and Look sitting beside my bed.

Lykke Li. My friend played this song to me at the weekend and I can't stop listening to it.

Cooking...

Pumpkin soup and chocolate cornflake cakes. Comfort Autumn food.

Missing...

Friends and family. Only 6 weeks until the Christmas break!

Cosy fleece boots and jeans. It's getting cold!

In JUNE I am...

Reading...

The Mill on the Floss by George Elliot. It's been a while since I read a classic, and it's taking me a while to get into it, but I'm enjoying it so far. I think it's important to read a proper book every now and again, even if does require a little more effort!

Preparing...

For the final exhibition of my art foundation (which will be from the 16th June - 23rd June). Tomorrow we're repainting all the studios white!

Eating...

Homemade carrot cake with strawberries and blueberries. So yummy

 

Visiting...

 

My grandparents in the countryside with my sister for a couple of days. 

Where I wore my yellow wellie boots

 

And swung on the swing that my grandpa fixed for us when we were young

And listened to nightingales sing in the woods at 11pm.

Learning...

To use a sewing machine, finally! I got over my fear and managed to hem my cushions and hammock. It's so much easier than I thought! I know what's going to be on my Christmas wishlist already...

Reading...

The Sound of Butterflies by Rachael King. I got it for Christmas and thought it would be appropriate to read it now due to my final major project being on butterflies. I am living a bit of a butterfly-themed life at the moment! It's really easy to get into and I am really enjoying it. It's definitely a page-turner!

Watching...

Date Night

I thought the title of the film sounded so cheesy and rubbish but it actually made me laugh a lot. Though it might have been made better for me as my friend and I had the whole cinema to ourselves. Hence lots of dancing on the ledge in front of the screen and running around eating sweets. I can be such a child sometimes!

Eating...

Grape Nuts

If you haven't heard of them before... they're nothing to do with grapes and they're nothing to do with nuts. They're a really yummy, healthy and addictive cereal! I wish the boxes were a bit bigger!

Drinking...

Waaay too many Caramel Coffee Frappuccinos

These majorly off-set the healthiness of the Grape Nuts! I'm not that big on Starbucks (I'm more of a Pret a Manger girl!), and I used to hate the Frappuccinos. I still hate the cream ones but give me a Caramel Coffee one with no cream anyday!

It's a brilliant story and you actually learn so much from it - about the war between Nigera and Biafra - which I didn't know anything about beforehand!

Well it's too cold to go outside! Desperate Housewives, 90210, Skins and I'm ashamed to say.. I'm rather addicted to Glee.

Just a Minute OCTOBER

I sort of forgot to do September Just a Minute, but here are July and August.

The last week has been really draining. I started art college properly on Monday and found the work and all the changes so difficult. But yesterday I woke up and felt a little bit better. And I realised it was the first of October, and hopefully everything will get easier over the next week.

The Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood!

It's a great book, seriously. It's long and easy to read and you really get into it!

I am planning to read The Time Traveller's Wife next! :)

Watching...

Running in Heels, a (rather crappy) t.v. show about three interns working for Marie Claire in New York... it's entertaining anyway!

I also enjoyed 500 Days of Summer a lot!

Wearing...

I'm back to my usual combo of black tights, black pumps, a pretty dress and a cardigan, back to my wintery wardrobe! I haven't quite brought myself to bring out my winter coat yet though....

Wanting...

Socks like these from Tabio. I have wanted them more than a year now, I swear! They look so cuddly and warm to wear with boots

Just a Minute AUGUST

Wow it seems like just yesterday that I was writing last month's Just a Minute.

I am...

Reading...

I'm only on page 25... and I think it's just a light-hearted holiday read. But it's good so far. I definitely recommend the two books that I read last month. They were both excellent and easy to read. I am going to read A Thousand Splendid Suns next.

Drinking...

Mojitos. Ahhh so refreshing.

Playing...

Perfect for restaurants, airports and those tired evenings after a long day at the beach.

Also Hearts (aka Black B***h!) We also played this at the airport. I won :)

Creating...

Little notebooks made from scrap paper. I made one as a present for my friend. Unfortunately forgot to take a picture, but it was really easy and fun. Just gather scrap paper (I used lined paper, parcel paper, square maths paper and lined paper), find a nice patterned piece for the cover and stitch it down the middle. I then decorated the inside cover and added stamps and little pictures throughout the pages.

Wanting...

To see Coco Avant Chanel.
I can't wait! Has anyone seen it yet? I haven't actually read any reviews... just seen the trailer.

Eating...

Ice creams. It's summer!

I ate lots of mint-choc-chip ice creams in Alderney. I love Twisters too. A childhood fave.

I caught up on the last two episodes last night and it is so good

My sister's keeper
Saw it on Sunday with my sister. Made me realise how lucky I am to have one. Bring a box of tissues... it is very very sad but good. Read the book first though - as usual it is better than the film.
