Procrastination

Making paper hearts is far more enjoyable than doing uni work on a Sunday afternoon. They're far from perfect but still fun :) I now have about a zillion paper garlands around my room, I love them.

Today I made mini knitted bunting

Because I love mini bunting

Because I love knitted things

Because I still owe my friend a homemade Christmas present (whoops)

Though I might have to make myself some as well!

Colour

Been doing lots of colour exercises lately to build up a folder of inspiring colour schemes and I've really enjoyed it. It makes me feel like a child again, getting to just "play" with mixing paints and making my favourite colours.
Finally fully recovered from tonsillitis and back at uni, so should have more time to blog once I've caught up with work!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello! I'm back from Paris and ready to start blogging again! I hope you all had a lovely week... I'll be back over the next few days with some Paris photos!
I found these sweet chocolate "Love Bugs" in Marks and Spencers last week and had to buy them for my flatmates. I wrapped them separately in cellophane and used pink ribbon to attach paper heart labels. They smelt so yummy when I was wrapping them that I wish I had got one for myself (though that would have been a bit sad!)

Are you doing anything special for Valentine's day?

Paper hearts

Love love loving these pretty paper heart garlands made by Dottie Angel.  So simple and pretty, and perfect for Valentine's Day! Can't wait to get my hands on a sewing machine now...

Another Lunch

I just discovered the blog Another Lunch and I find looking at these pictures of beautifully presented lunchboxes so unbelievably satisfying. They are so lovely and organised.
I know these lunches are for kids, but I might have to pop back to this blog for inspiration when I start having to make lunches to take into uni. I'm so lazy with my lunches - it's always a sandwich, cereal bar and an apple! Do you buy lunches or take them into work/ school/ college?

Treasures from Thailand

Beautiful gifts from a best friend, back from 5 months in SE Asia.
A silver bracelet, postcard, sundress, notebook, purse and chopsticks.

Sorry the posts this week have been kind of quick. I hate to post quick posts, but I dislike leaving my blog empty even more! I managed to grab the time to take a few quick shots yesterday.
What are you up to this weekend? I'm might be going to help set up an art fair near Brick Lane (it's next Saturday so come if you can make it!). A friend from the countryside is coming to help, and a friend flown over from Singapore is also coming to visit at some point. Pheewww it's going to be nice and busy! :)

Have a good one!

Tiny birthday party

Caroline of armelle blog threw her daughter Norah the cutest party for her first birthday with a "tiny" theme. You might remember that I love tiny things and so I fell in love with the photographs of this party!
She managed to make/ buy mini versions of everything (though it's quite hard to tell from photographs that the things are small, but we'll have to trust her on that one!)

I love the candy pink striped tablecloth and the doily labels

I have that same floral box from Libertys and I wish I had picked up some of those bowls now!

And the tiny girl...

What is a tiny party without tiny invitations?

And tiny party bags!

I can't wait to throw my children cute parties like this!

Exhibition Space

Hello my lovelies!
Sorry I haven't done a proper post for a few days! I've been super busy with my exhibition. There's only 2 days left of it and then I'll be free! I can't believe how fast this year has gone. It will be kind of sad to be leaving this university, but I'm looking forward to starting at a new one soon! I took some quick photos of my exhibition space with my point and shoot before it ran out of batteries.
You can see some of the developments of the project here.

My hammock is hung kind of strangely because of the lack of space. I was actually lucky enough to get more space than a lot of people!

I set up a "picnic" underneath with my printed blanket, napkins and my sketchbook and comments book. It was fun reading the comments people have left so far. Someone wrote "Where's the food?". Haha, that made me laugh.

I also found out my grade for my whole art foundation on Friday and it turns out I got a distinction! :) It's graded either fail, pass, merit or distinction, so I'm really happy.

I just wanted to show you the cutest card ever that my friend gave me...

The dog came in a normal sized envelope and stands up. And it is holding a mini letter in its mouth! So cute. Mini things make me so happy!

My best friend is coming back from her gap year travels in South East Asia today! She's been there for five months, wow. I hope you have a happy day in this hot sunny weather (if you're in the UK!)

Today I made mini pink and red bunting

Because I know someone who has a pink and red room

Because I like mini things

Because I can't stop loving bunting

I think I might have to keep some for myself as well
Now just to decide where to hang it

It looks so cute on my blue wall that I think the birdy birds will have to move over here.
I don't think they mind

On a yummy note, my mum made blackberry muffins at the weekend. It wasthe first time in months that someone other than me has baked.
Because no one else needs to bake when I'm around!

They were so yummy though.
If you want to make them - she used the blueberry Hummingbird recipe and substituted the blueberries for blackberries (our friend gave us a humungous bag of them when she closed her museli business). I've converted my mum to the Hummingbird cookery book. Yahoo!
