Marc By Marc Jacobs 2009 Tote

I just won this MBMJ tote on ebay for 6.50$ + 7$ shipping =O. Such an impulse buy.

In the description it says:

"The colors of this bag might run for water, the sweat, and friction.
Especially, please be careful that the color might move to clothes when using it
in the state that the bag gets wet on the day etc. of rain. Moreover, please do
not put a wet thing directly in bag. "

So much to the quality but I still like it. I'll use it to carry books.

How do I look?

One of my lucky friends will be the recipient of this on the next holiday/birthday.

Because everyone should wake up feeling like Audrey Hepburn every once and a while.

In life, we do things. Some, we wish we had never done and some we wish we could replay a million times. They make us who we are and, in the end, they shape and detail us. If we were to reserve them, we wouldn’t be the person we are today. So, just live. Make mistakes and have wonderful memories. But, never second guess who you are, where you’ve been and, most importantly, where you’re going.

Pippa Holt

I fell in love with the home of Pippa Holt last month when I saw it on Lori's blog Automatism. This is how I want my home to be (when I get one...) - white interior with loads of colour, lots of magazines, heaps of pattern and fun artwork. And that Eames RAR chair. My favourite for ages. I want one in every colour please.

The Good Earth.

I feel like a city girl through-and-through.
But there's a part of me that connects to my Grandmother's Kansas farm roots and my own Cherokee blood, and makes me truly appreciate how generous the earth can be.
Three days in northwestern Massachusetts put me back in touch with that gratitude.

Here's what we ate for three days:

Breakfast of farm-fresh eggs, local goat's milk cheese, and vine ripened tomatoes from the garden in the backyard.
---

The Gill Tavern. Gill, MA.
We started with a plate of locally-made cheese, and caprese with fresh basil and tomatoes.

For my entree I had a local grass-fed beef burger.
The menu notes that it's "from a 1/2 mile down the road." Amazing.
---
Elmer's Store. Ashfield, MA.

In keeping with the liberal nature of Western Mass, the menu offers an "Obamalette" complete with "Universal Health Care."

My pancake.

Bunny's omelette.

A gorgeous Federalist-style house from the late 1700s, located across the street from Elmer's.
---

We went to a grange fair, which is similar to a State Fair but on a much smaller scale.
Children are encouraged to grow produce and create crafts, and generally learn to be reliant on nature and themselves. Ribbons are rewarded for their hard efforts, and the results are indeed spectacular.

ENORMOUS cabbage heads and sunflower; I used my hand as a point of reference.
---

And then there's the land itself.
Our friends own 220 acres at the top of a mountain which offers spectacular views in every season. Following 2 days of rainfall we found ourselves surrounded by fog.

That red object is a hummingbird feeder and we were lucky enough to see several hummingbirds arrive for a snack; they're beautiful to watch.

Our friends are growing a beautiful and hearty garden. We were able to eat their zucchini and tomatoes, and they're even growing a little pumpkin patch!

A walk in the woods on their property.

I LOVE Queen Anne's lace. Complex and delicate all at the same time.

Sunflowers from a neighbor's garden. So happy!

TIRE SWING! (This is a new addition to the property!) //
Singing the "Baby Shark" song with my little friends; this is a personal specialty.

Just what I needed.

Ode to White Vintage

must... resist... purchasing vintage tulle dresses... urge... too strong

I believe it's time to start sharing with you the rest of the photos from my recent antique mall visit! Today's theme, is white and cream shabby chic. Really, is there anything better?

the dress forms, the canopy, the scalloping of the table...

oh, seashell curtains, cement round table, how I long for you...

my seashell heart is growing faint...

must rest on lovely sittery under loverlier awning...

dear feathers, how you tickle so sweet...

like white glowing paper suns out to tea...

with ladies in their best vintage hats...

jotting notes on their sweet altered art gift tags

lazing on a mustard chair by a shabby mantle, so sweet...
soon must sit at lovely table for sweet treats to eat.

oh birdcage, oh baby crib, oh dress form so tatty...

here for so long b. vereycken, 1829, have you been naughty?

a grande 6 foot birdcage, no really it's true...

now here's my favorite paintings (by Huldah Jeffe Cherry), and so to you, I say adieu!

Puss in Boots

While running a quick errand through the mall, I found myself rubbernecking in front of the Nine West window. The culprit to the stop in my mission? These amazing Husky boots for the Fall/Winter line! I am in love with the new over-the-knee look in boots this year. I tried them on for fun knowing they would not fit with my athlete legs, but semi-unfortunately to my surprise they fit perfectly! Now this means they are on my To Buy list. Can't wait.
Photo compliments of www.ninewest.com Go find more cute boots there!
