Summer Trim

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I have the best hairstylist ever
(see previous posts 1, 2, and 3).
Daily Candy agrees, and this week posted a video showcasing Julie teaching us busy and admittedly-untalented-when-it-comes-to-updos girls how to do a quick and glamorous chignon for summer.

Ch-ch-ch-check it out:

Every time I'm with Julie she makes me feel like Jackie Kennedy's Bohemian Princess daughter.
And when I leave her salon, I feel like I OWN this goddamn city.
I'm amazed there aren't tomes of poetry devoted to the transformative magic of a good haircut; someone needs to get on that stat.

Julie said there's nothing better in summer than a brunette with long hair wearing a sundress;
I'm more than happy to exemplify that vision.

I'm in love. Bravo (and thanks!), Julie!

Urban Turbans: A Refreshing Look for Spring

I've had a lifelong love affair with hair accessories:
Pretty pins during my ballet years, and headbands well before Blair Waldorf made them ubiquitous.
In an effort to be more adventurous, I think the time has arrived for me to embrace something different:
TURBANS!

Here are turbans done the right way on Prada's S/S and F/W '07 catwalks:

My favorite new model, Jacquelyn Jablonski, brings to mind a Girl [sans] the Pearl Earring in her bright turban twist:

Blogger Hanneli recently caught Parisian stylist Catherine Baba looking hopelessly chic in a turban (and on a bike, no less):

Don't want to twist and tie? Jennifer Ouellette's headbands make pulling off the look very easy:

Here's to a good hair day, everyday.
