. . . a softer, subtler, more romantic version of the classic combination of red and turquoise -- golden coral and morning sky -- and whether a bouquet of peonies at an afternoon dinner party or a delicate silk blouse against luxurious bed linens -- the intermingling of the two feels like a rush of spring air, billowing past curtains and fluttery skirts and bright petals in carved vases, ushering in long-awaited days of summer . . .
{p.s.} just happened upon another variation of this colour combination, here {via destined to design}

{two lovely things: secret gardens & on the terrace}
. . . late-spring rain and blustery breezes, and lately there are fallen petals everywhere -- between the cobblestones, and winter-worn fountains, on boxwood hedges and in secret gardens -- and the scent of freshly picked roses in etched glass vases and beautiful bouquets of lilies of the valley are enough to make one wish for every morning on the terrace . . .
{p.s.} recent two lovely things:
* green & white
* open shelves & elegant black
* bar carts & blossoms
* books & bouquets
* a paris apartment & hermès

{thursday musings & slants of sunlight}
. . . perhaps one of the best things ever is a late lunch on the terrace, and especially an enchantingly sundrenched terrace that holds the secrets of long-forgotten conversations, of laughter and champagne and stolen afternoon kisses . . .
{p.s.} this week's favourite five soon! xo

{wishing you a happy spring}
"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
. . . and at long last, the eternal enchantment that is spring has arrived, and while winter may have its cozy, fire-lit nights, spring has its breezes by starlight and magnolia blossoms in sunlight, its long-awaited, lingering excitement that soon there will be pleated skirts and picnics, café crème and macarons in quaint light-filled cafés in late morning, and butterflies and golden skies in early evening . . .
happy spring! hope it is filled with beautiful things & new beginnings,
~ roséline xo
{p.s.} spent most of the day, yesterday, out of the office in favour of working in a sun-drenched café, having apparently already fallen to spring fever and there's magic in the air

{two lovely things: red hair & lipstick}
. . . often thought to clash, red hair & lipstick actually looks rather fetching, don't you think? . . . and despite the myriad of beautiful options for taming winter tresses, still clinging to a chic and messy topknot or a classic chignon for simplicity's sake, although now may be a little inspired to weave a tangle of braids . . .

{the stars were brightly shining}
. . . and while we're on the topic of spending the holidays in warm places, quite adore the idea of decorating an elegant evergreen wreath with seaside inspired starfish, even as the icicles glisten in the late-december light and a soft blanket of freshly fallen snow beautifully envelopes a perfect winter's afternoon . . .

{holiday travel inspiration: australia}
. . . with the exception of one christmas in florida, have always spent the holidays somewhere where there is the possibility of swirling and softly falling snow -- whether paris or anywhere else in the world, the holidays were always a winter wonderland in late december, and while shall always love a blanket of snow on christmas day, have sometimes wondered what it would be like to celebrate in a place where the sun shone brightly and warmly and it was summertime, and realise that it would be quite the same, if you are with those you love, with the exception, of course, that you could trim the tree with freshly picked gardenias and host a holiday dinner party outdoors . . .

{have a romantic october weekend + links}
. . . and in the midst of all the busy-ness this week, a few moments to leaf through wallpaper samples and for lunch dates, for long, leisurely conversations and perfect stolen kisses . . . and for the next two days, the enchanting sound of falling leaves and silvery clouds, elegant marble floors and long cashmere scarves, and most of all, knowing for certain that le coup de foudre/love at first sight truly does exist . . .
wherever in the world you may be or whatever lovely things you may have planned, hope you're having an impossibly beautiful weekend,

{monday, monday . . .}
. . . hello! a bright & crisp september morning of a new week, and if summer has flown by quickly, this month has taken on an astonishing pace and perhaps already a little too chilly for open-toed sandals and on the weekend, tall leather boots for the very first time . . . but despite changing temperatures, very much looking forward to mornings in cozy knits, and especially marigold-coloured knitted capelets . . .
hope your week is off to a perfect start,
xo
