. . . after a whirlwind week, very much looking forward to a few days of repose, and {as the days magically become longer} even more so, for the fresh early spring afternoons when the floaty & flirty summer whites that have been waiting patiently in the back of the closet will see the sunlight once again -- lacy sleeves and hemlines, pretty lengths of ribbon and feathery sweaters, sexy sheer tops and romantic skirts -- all only too perfect for moments spent lost in daydreams . . .

. . . elie saab never fails to be utterly breathtaking, and when you finally catch your breath, you will scarcely be prepared for the utter beauty of the latest spring couture collection, a flourish of mousseline and sheer décolleté, of tulle and organza, and flowers piled at the shoulder and tied with grosgrain at the waist, and all in glittery, fairytale shades of silver and champagne . . .

. . . currently playing with the notion of a quick trip to new york -- {only pause for consideration being, taking the trip without p, who is has always been my constant travel companion} -- there would be meetings & appointments and catching up with friends, as well as a launch party, meaning, of course, much planning and dreaming up ideas of what to wear, and imagine something floor-length and with sleeves, cinched with a bow and flowing in pretty pleats a whispery shade of champagne-drenched honeysuckle may be just the thing . . .

. . . one of the best things about winter is that things seem to slow down a little, the overcast skies and shorter days inspiring less time traipsing about, and more cozy and candlelit nights at home, and rather than spend the rest of january and february whiling away the days until spring, shall spend more time in moments of repose and pretty lacy things, to plot and plan and dream . . .
