. . . while may not have had a chance to get together holiday decorations this past weekend {perhaps & hopefully this week}, have been dreaming up elegant colour palettes for the season, and while the last may have been inspired by tiffany's blue, this year, quite smitten with the idea of simple and classic silver and gold, perhaps hints of pearl and opalescence, gilded garlands and glittering sequins, and perhaps, just the faintest glimmer of palest lilac . . .
{p.s.} also lovely: one & two; & how was your weekend? dying to know what holiday colour palettes you've been dreaming up?
{also:} a few things you may have missed:
* weekend: a few lovely links
* at the shops: andrea bonelli, san francisco
* for the holidays: advertising
{& one last thing:}
* now that we finally have a winner for the philippe starck louis ghost armchair, it's on to the next glamorous give-away {perfect for the holidays!} a little later today -- check back if you like . . . xo

{fashion inspiration: feather clutch}
. . . one of my very favourite shots is a detail of viviana volpicella, {assistant fashion editor, vogue nippon}, wearing a champagne-coloured silk blouse and holding a large leather clutch by yves saint laurent, photographed by tommy ton of jak & jil for style.com -- there is just something about it that draws you in -- the play of light and shadow, and all the little details that say so much . . . and now this soft and dusky image has become a new favourite -- a swish of tulle, a feather clutch, and an utterly romantic glimpse of an enchanting moment caught in time . . .
{p.s.} silver shoes & feathers and pretty, pretty things

{beautiful details: paint-dipped baskets}
. . . and while we're on the topic of wicker, a chance to flip through the latest issue of martha stewart living on the weekend over coffee, and absolutely fell in love with these summer-perfect paint-dipped wicker baskets -- whether dipped or brushed on, such a simple and simply wonderful way to give market and beach baskets a stylish update . . .

{two lovely things: souvenirs of summer}
{two lovely things:} . . . few things bring back floods of summer more than wicker and saltwater-laden memories of the sea, and while there are still many golden days to dream away, always lovely to have exquisite remembrances of these, the gauzy and ethereal days of summer . . .
{p.s.} more {two lovely things:}
* bits of green
* cool august nights
* warm & woodsy

{at home with: freunde von freunden}
{home of kirsten hermann, stylist & gallerist}
. . . my wonderful friend felicity always sends along the most amazing things, and freunde von freunden is one of them: a berlin-based selby-esque {perhaps a little more gritty & artsy} project by german design agency no more sleep, that documents the agency's friends, partners and creative people around berlin in their living or workspace; overflowing with visual details, the shots are glimpses that feel like an exclusive look behind the scenes . . .{home of helena kapidzic, make-up artist}

{beautiful details: hervé pierre, new york}
. . . always adore the details best -- a perfume collection or the way it is displayed, luxurious bouquets artfully arranged, the books in cases and the photographs and artwork in frames -- these and other personal and creative flourishes tell the most about a place, and few have more glamour than hervé pierre, whose new york apartment is positively overflowing with beautiful details, such as a curtain tieback made from a balmain glove {top}, and a wonderfully intricate and incredibly handmade frame created of paper and cardboard that took two years to complete . . .
