{holiday inspiration: day & night}

. . . a flurry of things this past few weeks and can hardly believe that it is nearly & already only one week left until christmas, and in all this dashing about . . . by day, it's been white lacy dresses strewn with a million floating snowflakes, strands of elegant pearls and satin platform pumps, pink champagne truffles and the softest suede foldover clutches . . . and by night, it's all black satin and sequins and the intoxicating scent of deep florals and lotus wood . . .

. . . whether a wrought-iron italian campaign canopy or time-worn wood and draped in yards and yards of twilight gold linen, have always loved beds with canopies best, especially when strewn with crisp, late-summer white bedding and lacy, scalloped edges . . .

{colour inspiration: sea green & summer white}

. . . a kelly green cashmere cardigan from a lifetime ago aside, not often drawn to shades of green -- that is -- until happening upon these serenely elegant rooms overflowing with prettily patterned chaises and ruffled bed linens, elegant topiaries and cascading bouquets -- and suddenly -- the shade is as a fresh the summer air just before an early august thundershower, and believe am now quite enamoured with this perfect shade that hangs somewhere just between chartreuse and the leaves of gardenias . . .
