Here is what Nicole Richie said about the first pieces that she designed for her House of Harlow 1960 fine jewelry debut collection:
"I wanted to update a classic House of Harlow 1960 piece and the sunburst is one of my favorites. To give it a modern and chic twist we played with materials and used a natural grey diamond slice held in an asymmetrical micro pave setting. Playing with the diamond slice was something I have wanted to do for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to do so in order create an unconventional organic and modern feeling piece."
Nicole wore this pair of earrings at the 2011 Met Gala, on May 2.
Nicole said she wanted something simple and chic and opted for delicate huggie hoops engraved and micro pave set with House of Harlow's signature engraving pattern.
"The silhouette of the long ring I felt was a sleek contemporary design that would work as an accent to the vintage dress and also an extension to the sleeves of the dress. It’s also a signature shape used in the House of Harlow 1960 jewelry collection. I loved the idea of using black rhodium to plate the gold and diamonds for an ultra modern touch."
