Peaceful
This week I have been trying to take care of things. Get orders and other gifts shipped, give away boxes to Goodwill, organize... and even though I accomplished about half of what I wanted, it was still nice today to be able to come home from church and take a nice long nap, knowing that a lot of things had been taken care of.
The windows are open, there is a nice breeze and I can hear our subtle windchimes a-chiming. I saw Etsy's front page treasury and it totally explains my mood. I am including a treasury from the other day, because it too, is peacful. The screen shot cut off the bottom 3 artists, so let me credit them right quick.

Nicole at the Chateau Marmont
While the Maddens are out on the road, new mom Nicole Richie is staying home with little Harlow.
Yesterday we caught up with Nicole channeling her inner Mary-Kate Olsen at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.
The model mother clearly had her baby girl on her mind — even when taking some time for herself — and brought home some Fred Segal baby clothes.
She looks great. I don’t really think this outfit is very Mary-Kate Olsen though. I like the whole ensemble - black coat, stripey dress, opaque tights, wedges, Chanel bag and sunnies.

{happy weekend + lovely letters}
{beautiful sample of Karl Lagerfeld's photographic work for Chanel}
Late Thursday morning, I received a perfectly delightful e-mail from Glamorous reader Joy, who was fortunate enough to happen upon a Karl Lagerfeld photoshoot while out enjoying the Spring sunshine the previous day:
"This is glamorous! Love, love, love your blog and read it daily!
While running around town yesterday, I stumbled upon a Karl Lagerfeld shoot for Fendi. Karl himself was taking many of the photos. It was a perfect 60 degrees and all the onlookers sat quietly taking the experience in. Surely, it was a nice way to kill an hour. It's amazing what you see day to day on the streets of New York.
Thought you would enjoy these photos!"
You may or may not know that the world-famous couturier, {currently for Fendi, Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld}, is also famous for his photography as well as his designs and has published more than 20 books of photography. Joy managed to snap some wonderful candid shots of the designer {including behind the lens!}, and so thoughtfully sent them along . . .

Nicole's heart-shaped shades
According to whowhatweardaily Nicole's heart-shaped sunglasses are from Anglo American
Nicole Richie
Despite her recent semi-absentee status (we’re not being rude, motherhood is important!) Nicole Richie is a cherished staple on our site. In the past week we’ve been inundated with questions about the new yummy mummy, specifically about her truly stellar pair of American Anglo heart-shaped shades ($255). If you are prone to losing sunglasses or not quite ready to make a hefty investment, we recommend the red Heart Sunglasses ($10) available from Fred Flare or Urban Outfitter’s Sweet Heart Sunglasses ($14).
Nicole and Joel in Life&Style Weekly
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have traveled the world, partied at exclusive clubs and signed autographs for adoring fans. So what impresses them these days? When daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden, nearly 3 months old, gives them a grin. “The greatest thing about Harlow right now is that she laughs and smiles a lot,” Joel tells Life & Style. “She wakes up every morning laughing and smiling — and it’s the best part of my day.”
But there are tough new challenges ahead. In late March, Joel left for a Good Charlotte tour that will take him throughout Europe through mid-April. Nicole and Joel can’t wait until he’s back so they can resume their routine. “Nicole’s world is about bottles, diapers and family dinners now,” says the couple’s friend. “Parenthood is the best thing that ever happened to her.”
Meanwhile, are wedding bells in Nicole and Joel's future? The two attended the wedding of Good Charlotte guitarist Billy Martin and longtime girlfriend Linzi Williamson on March 1. During his toast, Joel joked that "[They] beat us on the marriage, but we got you beat on the baby!" And, as Life & Style has reported, the duo have hired a wedding planner who’s scouting locations in LA.
“Nicole and Joel are totally in love,” the couple’s pal, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, tells Life & Style. And they’ve got Nic’s dad, singer Lionel Richie, behind them. “Lionel says that if Nicole were to take the next step, he would advocate that,” says Ryan.
