Laura Letinsky

Laura Letinsky's collection of photographs - Likeness - are "the modern equivalent of a 17th century Dutch still-life painting".

The used crockery, crumpled tablecloths, crushed flowers and half-eaten fruit suggest the after-math of a teaparty. There is something fragile to them; the edge of a doily, a delicate glass, a thin petal. The colours are beautiful and I love the serene feel to the photographs - tranquility after the chaos of a party.
